I have realized that the typical standard slideshows are actually very bad presentations. Firstly, we have to make the audience's attention focus on the people talking. So there is no meaning writing down the same thing on the slideshow when you are saying it. I have seen many people do this (I was doing this too) but when I think carefully, what is the point of doing that if you're only reading the slideshow? A presentation's focus should be on the talking. Therefore instead, we should use the slideshow as a supplementation. For example, we should use the slideshow to show pictures and graphs because we can't show them by just talking. Secondly, we should not put too much information in a slideshow. We tend to put many decorations in a slideshow, but I find this sometimes annoying. For example, a character in the corner distracts me from focusing on other information. Thirdly, the format of the slideshow should use some scientific strategies like the rule of three or leaving blank spaces in the slideshows. I thought the pictures that used these strategies make me more focused on the topic. I would want to look over my past slideshows and improve my next slideshows so that it won't be boring but interesting. Also, I hope more teachers and companies will start making better slideshows too.

After that, our group continued making our own slideshow. However, we haven't made much progress. I think this is because we (I) lack communication skills. I found out that we need more time to discuss the topic. Unfortunately, in my group, no one has a Mac PC so we have less advantage in making videos. One solution for this is to include the points above in our slideshow in order to make it a good one.

5/6 The Hobbit chapter 19

Chapter 19 - The Last Stage Bilbo was now at Rivendell.  He had not been home for over a year.  At Riverdell, he and Gandalf rested and told their stories to Elrond. Then Gandalf confesses where he had been when he was not with the dwarves. He was at the great council of the white wizards who had driven the Necromancer from Mirkwood. The Necromancer was actually Sauron, the evil lord that appears in "the Lord of the Rings" as the main antagonist. Then they left Rivendell. They went past the river where they were captured by three trolls and dug up the box of treasure they took from the trolls. Bilbo was surprised when he got back to his hobbit-hole. Bilbo was presumed dead, and his belongings were being sold at an auction. He stops the auction and gets his things back from other people, but he lost his reputation as a good hobbit. 5/6 The Hobbit chapter 18

Chapter 18 - The Return Journey When Bilbo became conscious again, he noticed that he was alone. He also noticed that his side has won the battle. A man came to the hill to find Bilbo, so Bilbo took off his ring and went to the camp where the people were waiting. Gandalf was happy to see Bilbo alive because Gandalf was worried that Bilbo was dead. However, there was bad news too; Thorin had a fatal injury and was dying. Thorin gave his last words to Bilbo. He said he will give some treasure to Bilbo and take back the words he had said to Bilbo. Of course, Bilbo told Thorin he wasn't angry at Thorin. Then Thorin said, "If more of us valued food and cheer and songs above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world" and passed away. Bilbo turned away and wept; he had a kind soul.
