     Today we got in groups and discussed what kind of country we would create if we were the citizens of the country. We had to decide on the economic system, the electoral system, welfare, tax, education, military, law/punishments, media etc. We agreed that our country should be a democratic socialist country like Sweden, Norway and Finland. Therefore will impose high tax rates and free education, but private companies are allowed. Serving the military will be voluntary and people would get free education. For the electoral system, we decided that people who had acquired sufficient knowledge and judgment skills are able to vote after they've passed an intelligence test. However, there are problems such as, the people who creates the tests might manipulate the test to make only the intelligent people to pass the test, and that wouldn't be a democratic country. For the media, we thought that medias should broadcast news from a neutral (or centred) view and for it to do that, the media shouldn't have any sponsors.  

    Through this activity, I realized that running a country was very difficult and tiring. We also realized that creating a perfect system or a perfect democratic system was difficult too. I thought that first, we had to decide on what kind of country we want to create, because the definition of an ideal country would be different amongst the members. Of course we want to create a country where everyone can live their lives peacefully and happily. However, that is impossible, so it becomes difficult to compare several systems and decide on the best system for every citizen.
